Now on to the good Stuff...

With that last entry out of the way, on to poker!!! What a truly entertaining game. I’m currently playing 1/2 shorthanded and 2/4 full. I’m a limit player at heart, but I’ve also been mixing in some .1/.25 & .25/.5 NL (shhhh, don’t tell anyone). I have to say that for the most part, the micro limit players are much better than the micro NL folks. I will say though, what they lack in brains they make up for in balls. In addition to the above, I’ve been playing turbo HU NL SnG’s as well as the occasional tourneys. I really like heads up play, and I find that the turbo matches give me more of an edge. Once the blinds get to 50/100, making plays becomes easier. As far as the tournaments go, I’m a pretty poor tourney player, and I’m going to play 2 or 3 a week as long as the bankroll keeps growing.

Things I’m working on in December:

Consistency in Cash Game play: No real explanation needed, short handed is a higher variance game, but that’s no excuse. I should be taking more from the table more often.

Mental Game: If you’ve done reading on poker, you’ll see it mentioned frequently that you should stay away from the tables when you’re upset or stressed. I need to work on playing with an empty mind and make one decision at a time.
